Perkasie, PA — Perkasie Hometown, the most experienced team running for Borough Council this November, is committed to keeping neighborhoods safe, ensuring reliable public services, and protecting the historic charm that makes Perkasie America’s Hometown.
In its recently released mission statement, the team emphasized its focus on preserving the community’s values while delivering dependable leadership for residents and taxpayers.
“Perkasie is more than just a town; it’s a community with a unique spirit and a rich history. Perkasie Hometown understands this, and we are deeply committed to preserving the special character that makes Perkasie unique,” the group said.
Together, Perkasie Hometown brings more than 20 years of service on Borough Council, along with experience on the Planning Commission, Park & Recreation Commission, and the Perkasie Wastewater Treatment Authority. The team includes three incumbents—Scott Bomboy, Randy Faulkner, and Dave Worthington—and three new candidates—Csaba Lorinczy, Joel Nieto, and Dale Schlegel—running on the GOP ticket this fall.
Seven Priorities for Public Service
Perkasie Hometown’s mission statement highlights seven priorities and two new initiatives:
Keeping Perkasie as America’s Hometown
Creating Opportunities for Economic Development
Connecting Historic Preservation with Economic Development
Prioritizing Public Safety
Promoting Public Power
Supporting Public Works
Investing in Parks and Recreation
“Perkasie is a great place to live, and we want people to vote for our team, which makes that happen every day,” the six candidates noted. “And our years of experience in the Borough have taught us that we always want to get more community members involved as volunteers.”
Proposals to Strengthen Community Involvement
To encourage greater community participation, the team has endorsed two new initiatives:
Public Power Advisory Board – A resident-led advisory body to provide input on electricity rates, customer service, and alternative energy sources, advising Borough Council on its policies.
Historical Commission – A new commission to create a preservation plan, award façade grants, and organize Perkasie’s 150th anniversary in 2029, while working with the Borough to secure state and federal funding.
Economic Development and Grants
Perkasie Hometown also supports expanding participation in the state’s Main Street Matters program to bring new grant money and small business support into town.
“The combination of Perkasie joining the Main Street program and adding a Historic District is a huge win for the Borough,” the team explained. “A Historical Commission awarding façade grants and Main Street funding for microgrants and microloans to small businesses will combine economic development with preserving Perkasie’s charm.”
Once Perkasie Borough completes its state-funded Economic Development plan in 2026, it will become eligible to apply for Main Street status, which requires a Historic Preservation board advising local government. Main Street members can apply for grants up to $1 million with only a 25% match, and they can issue microgrants and forgivable microloans to small businesses.
In recent years, Perkasie Borough has secured more than $4 million in state and federal funding for its parks and trails system, with Perkasie Hometown members playing key roles in those efforts.
